Choosing What Comes Next

As we enter 2026, we find ourselves in a pivotal moment, one that will shape what becomes possible in the years ahead.

Over the last few years, the world’s eyes have opened toward Palestine and Israel in new ways. Questions about accountability and the human cost of occupation and injustice are being raised more openly — by governments, movements, and people of conscience around the globe.

In 2025, after two years of devastation, we saw that violence can be interrupted when sustained pressure forces those in power to act. Diplomatic engagement grew, spurring international conversations about what a just and lasting peace would require.

At the same time, on the ground, grassroots nonviolent movements most impacted by the hardships deepened and grew. People chose joint struggle, mutual care, and moral courage, even as even as conditions hardened around them.

We move into the new year carrying hard-earned lessons. We reaffirm our refusal of the false binary that frames peace as a zero-sum choice between one people’s security and another’s survival.  Instead, we forge forward grounded in deeper truths:

Our lives are bound together.
Liberation will be real when it is inclusive.
We are collectively capable of creating a just peace.

As we confront the imbalances of power and injustices that shape daily life, we stake our claim to hope in this reality, knowing that the future is being written and we all have a vital role to play.

Because of your profound generosity, our movement closed 2025 meeting year-end goals, sustained by a community that understands its collective power to bring about the future we seek. We are deeply grateful to you. We begin the new year sharing CfP’s words for this moment:

Thank you for standing with our movement, especially now. As 2026 calls for sustained courage and collective creation, we call back with strength and purpose, together.

Onward,
AFCFP Team
